consider following data
NAME          CLASS                 SPORT
RAM             4TH                          X

SAM             5TH                           Y

TOM              6TH                          Z

CAN I SAY,
1) case 4th class is recorded the variable name RAM
2) case X sport is recorded variable class 5th.

ACCORDING TO ME ABOVE TWO STATEMENTS ARE CORRECT BECAUSE WE CONSIDER ALL COLUMNS AS VARIABLE SO  NAME , CLASS,  SPORT MUST BE VARIABLES AND ALL THE DATA THEY STORED LIKE RAM, SAM,X,Y,Z,4TH,5TH ETC MUST BE CASES AS BY DEFENITION "ALL ROWS ARE CASES".

PLEASE EXPLAIN WHETHER I AM WRONG OR NOT

Hello,

NAME, CLASS, and SPORT  are variables.
In your example, for Ram, Sam, and Tom, you are recording the variables (like CLASS, SPORT). So, Ram, Sam, and Tom are the cases here.
Hope this helps. You can also refer to Lec 1.2 for more clarification.

Thank you

So, am I to understand that the left most variable is automatically the 'case'?

Thanks.
