How a ratio scale have all properties of interval scale? For example in school data, age comes under numerical variable with ratio scale but the interval between ages are not same .

Is time comes under ratio scale of measurement?

Hello,
In interval scales of measurement, only subtraction and addition can be performed. But in ratio scale of measurement, multiplication and division operations are also performed along with addition and subtraction. This is because the ratio scale of measurement has an absolute zero value. Since all operations that can be performed on interval scale are also performed on ratio scales, we say ratio scale has all the properties of an interval scale.

Time measured in HH: MM AM or HH: MM PM has an interval scale because it doesn't have absolute zero.

Thanks & Regards,
