If something is discrete . Can it be interval type too?

age.  is considered discrete.  But, the survey question you're answering might need you to choose from any of the available intervals

are you between 20-30, 31-40, 41 - 50, 51 - 70, or above 70?

What's the difference between continuous and discrete variable .

Continuous variable is the variable whose value can be obtained by measuring . Eg: Time. You can't count time, but you can measure it . Like time taken to travel from A to B . Age of a person in years etc.

To make it short this might be applicable to most of the cases:
To count, Discrete variables are used.
To measure, continuous variables are used.

If  the graph plotted for the variable  is a continuous line or curve then it is a continuous variable and if it is plotted as discrete points on the graph it may be considered as discrete variable.

Discrete values can be counted 
Cont variables can take decimal values too.
