Can anyone explain how are mobile number, E-mail , date categorical variable? 

And, how are height, weight , age  structured data and E-mail, audio files, image files are unstructured data?

Hi,

Mobile numbers even though they are numbers but any mathematical operations (Addition, subtraction, multiplication, division etc.) performed on it would me meaningless. Hence, mobile number is acategorical variable.

Email address does not contain any number. Hence it is a categorical variable but message in an email is an unstructured data.

Structured data : It is a well organised data. It is easy to search.The examples of the structured data are name, gender, email id, phone number etc

Unstructured data : Unstructured data is not well organised and is difficult to search.The examples for the unstructured data are web pages, lyrics of the songs, video files,message of an email etc .

What are the discrete and continuous numerical variable ? I think discrete numerical variable are counted and continuous numerical variable are measured. But if there is any other definition or criteria of these variables then it will be great if you can explain.

Date, Day, week, month will categorical data. What about year? Will year be a categorical data?

Hi,

As per the discussion with Prof. Usha ma'am , year can be considered as numerical variable.

we can say year the difference between 2020 and 2018 is of 2 years.
