Hi Team,

When calculated the relative frequency of first language speakers for Dravidian languages in India (Kannada, Malayalam, Tamil, and Telugu), the exact answer derived is 0.188861717423, however they have asked us to enter the answer upto 4 decimals accuracy. which is why the answer that I have entered is 0.1888 and the same is considered incorrect.

Until the final calculation, no round up of decimals were done. attached is the snapshot for your reference.

Please revert with some clarity/guidance.

Note : Figures have been considered in percentage till the end of calculation, the same is later converted into numbers after final calculation.

Regards,

consider the percentages of the four languages. Divide the percentage by 100 to get relative frequency distribution: Tamil - (0.0570) + Telugu - (0.0670) + Malayalam - (0.0288) + Kannada - (0.0361). If you add all the values it is 0.1889

Thank you.. but calculation was not done basis the population % given in the table as the same is rounded up after 2 decimals.. have calculated RF by dividing the respective frequency with the sum of all frequencies which indeed is the accurate way of doing it.
