How can we  convert  variables with an interval scale of measurement  into a ratio scale of measurement by performing Subtraction operation?

Hi,
This question is addresed in the FAQ released on a portal. Please go throuh it.

I will give you an example reagrding converting interval scale of measurement to ratio scale of measurement.
assume the temperature in Chennai, Pune and Shimala is 40 C, 20 C and 10 C respectively. The temperature measured in degree celsius have intreval scale of measurement.
But the difference between temperatures in Chennai and Shimala is 30 C and the difference between Chennai and Pune is 10 C. Now we can say that the difference between Chennai and Shimala is thrice as that of difference between Chennai and Pune. Thus we can convert Interval scale of measurement into ratio  scale of measurement.
