Why on subtracting interval scale values turn into ratio scale values?

I think arbitrary zero cancels out and the result becomes ratio scale.

Pl correct me if I am wrong.

Hi,

Whenever variables with the interval scale of measurement don't have absolute zero, we need to have absolute zero to convert it into the ratio scale of measurement and this can be done using subtraction only. By subtracting the same values of the variable, we can have absolute zero in the new variable.

You can refer to the FAQ of week 1 to get a better idea of it.
