Dear Sir/Madam,
I have a general doubt regarding the descriptive and inferential nature of study..
Suppose if i calculate the summary statistics of a representative sample and conclude that the summary statistics of the Population will be close to the summary statistics of the Sample.
Does this come under Inferential Nature of study or Descriptive Nature of Study?
Can we say that Inferential Nature of study also includes the computation of various summary statistics but the overall nature of the study is still Inferential??
Regards,
Abhinav.

Hello,
If you are summarizing something on a sample and use the same to conclude on population then it would surely be inferential statistics.
The nature of the study will be the same because we will be computing the same properties for sample too but we use those to conclude on population in inferential statistics.
