Don't confuse with the point (2,y) take any value of y it doesn't reflect in slope as slope is X variable.
Slope of parabola is dy/dx = 12X+10.
substitute point (2,y) in slope means Find dy/dx at X=2.
So substitute X=2.

Dear learner,
Thank you Dharma for your explanation, please let us not get into calculus part (derivative) at present as this is not thought in lecture and it might confuse others who are not aware of these concepts.
For others: dy/dx = slope (this will be thought later in this course)
