The course material defines cardinality as the number of elements in a set.
Shouldn't this be refined to state "the number of distinct elements in a set", since duplicates are allowed in a set , but are not counted

Nice question Hari.
But we really don't write the duplicates in a set which means all the elements of a set are different.
In some question you will find we have taken duplicates but those are just to clear your concept.
