Can you please explain Q5 and Q13 from Mock Test.

Hi Shreya, 

This is Subhajit, from the course instructor team. Can you tell your approach to solve the questions? 

To check whether a function is onto or not, you have to check whether the range of the function is same as the codomain of the function or not. 

Observe that for option a, of question 5, the range is {0,1} , where as the codomain is the set of natural numbers. So Range and codomain are not the same. 

So the function will not be onto. 

Using this process you can check for all the functions. 

For question 13, observe that, f(0)=f(2)=1, So for two different values in the domain the function is giving the same value as the output. So it is not injective. 

Now check whether it is surjective of not, using the same process I have mentioned for Q5.
