Let gcd(a,4) = 2 and gcd(a,b) = 1. If 4>a>b and a,b are natural numbers, then the values of a and b are respectively
 2, 1
 1, 2
 2, 4
 4, 2

i know its too late to ask doubt on this que but could not understand how  the ans is 2,4

here 4>a>b and gcd(a,4) =2 and gcd(a,b)=1
Option 1 is a= 2, b = 1 this implies 4>2>1 which is true and gcd(2,4) = 2 and gcd(2,1) =1, therefore option 1 is true.
Check the same for all other options.

Yes, thanks Sanjay for the correct answer.
Anitta, I would also suggest to just look at the options  and put them in the problem to check whether the conditions are satisfied. It is never too late to ask any question.
