Q11)Find the values of r for which the line (r + 5)x – (r – 1)y + r square + 4r − 5 = 0 is parallel to the x-axis
The Solution mentions:
"Using the slope intercept form of the line (r + 5)x − (r − 1)y + r square + 4r − 5 = 0, the slope of the line is
m1 = r + 5/r − 1"
Doubt:
Here I understand m = -A/B
But why is B taken as r-1 when the question has -(r-1).
Why is not B taken as -r-1 ?
The round brackets in -(r-1) is where I think i'm going wrong.
Why is the minus sign not taken?
