Generally, we rotate anything 360 degrees, it comes back to the same position. But in Week 2 Tutorial 7, when the line segment is rotated 360 degrees, it comes from Quadrant 1 to Quadrant 4. I am not really able to understand this.

Can somebody please explain this?

Hi all, This is Subhajit from course support team. If we rotate a line segment, say OP as drawn in the picture we will get back to the line segment itself again.
Here the concept is, if you rotate OP around the X axis you get a cone around the axis of symmetry as X axis. It is actually a three dimensional diagram. The base of the cone will be a circle passing through the point P and its mirror image about the X axis and the centre of the circle will be on the X axis.
Hope you will visualize the figure now. If there are still some doubt please let me know, we will discuss further.
Best
Subhajit
