I'm yet to check the mock test, due to prior commitments. However, this appears alarming. I, really, hope they time the exams keeping the needs of differently abled learners in mind.

Even though i tried to solve as fast as possible i could barely reach 9th question within 45 mins.........Forget re-checking i couldnt  even attempt all the questions.
Will a similar time and similar level of questions be given for the actual test?

The questions were easy but we barely got time to think and confirm our answers

I had only 15 minutes to do the English Mock Test.
Took 1hr 15 mins for maths.

Exactly 1 hr for maths since I faced problem to download listening files. But I thought it might be auto submission so at sharp 9 try to submit maths but could not .

i found the mathematics test lengthy as well....even though my concepts are clear, there was hardly any time to implement it.
The questions were not difficult but lengthy it needed more then one hour easily to attempt all the questions.
i had to leave the mathematics test mid way and start  with English when i realized i have only 15 min left

i thought it was auto submit but it wasn't . so i ended with blank as i was solving till last minute. .. that is another story.. but it was supposed to happen exactly the same way as it was mock . so we learn what to expect.

the idea is to be intuitive regarding lot of problems..
any of you guys have any idea regarding where we can get more practice.?

but to all who think it was too lengthy.. it is a qualifier.. i guess we are tested for our time management skills and application . the english was good quick. if you look at the problems i think we need is just a bit more practice.
so  i think we have to have atleast 1 hour minimum  out of 3 for qualifier. in maths.. but stats due to complex calculation might prove to be another challange. and computational problems due to length might provide some challange...

so we have to divide the 3 hours into half hour english 45 min computational 45 min stats 1 hour maths..

solve english followed by computational or stats and finally math.

we need strategies and practice in next 15 days.. .

the idea is to complete minimum 75 percent of the qualifier acurately+  ( atleast 50 percent without single mistake) and in ideal scenario best case 90-100
so finally it would intuition, good guess work , time management skills with minimum smart calculations that will help in solving the exam..

take care friends.. see you on the other side..!!

The actual qualifier test will be Auto submission. So no need to worry.

Auto submission means?
We don't need to press the submit button?

Dear learner,

Auto submission means if you forget to submit your responses then it will submit itself.

Best wishes

@ Subha and Rahul, Thank you for the clarification. In hall ticket instruction , submit button should be pressed instruction creates confuision. Some people still think it will be multiple submission so advise people to submit multiple time. But I think that move will be suicidal.

I am sure, there will be a small read out by invigilators are exam center about what to do and what not to do, including concept of auto submission and final submission.

If not, my request to IIT team is to ask invigilators to read out final set of points (in short) before exam

I think the problem is the lack of practice. Given the difficulty level is fairly good, many of us who are taking up math after years usually take some time to understand the question and then solving it.

I agree with you.

Difficulty level is even good for students who have just finished 12th grade.
I'd only they had given more resources to practice.

And we cannot rule out the fact that it is going to be fairly exhausting to solve problems for 3 and half hours especially for us who are going to come to the exam center from kms away to take the exam in the morning shift. I would have to wake up at 4:30 in the morning. Take the bus at around 5:30am only to reach the exam center at around 8am. And then taking the exam from 9 to 12:30 is going to be fairly tough. I have no idea what's my mental state is going to be.

@Akshay, try to take a nap in bus.

Small clarification from my side, My comment that " I agree " on the context of Tejasvi's suggestion  ( clarifications  of exam procedure in exam hall should be done) not for the main topic.

Yes, I agree.
Here in lies the dilemma whether to go for English/CT first or math/stat  when we are fresh.
Because last one hour focus would be wavering and silly mistakes might be plenty.
I am studying math after nearly 24 years 😀.
Finally it will just come down to time management and state of mind..
3 and half hours after travelling might sound tough but may not be
Sleep well throughout the day on Saturday.
...,...
I guess I am lucky I just have to travel for one hour depending on traffic conditions.
Hopefully Sunday afternoon shouldn't be an issue

Last time i sat for 3 hours exam during my college days and that too was 15 years back. Apart from attempting any questions, this exam would be a battle for me to sustain/keep the momentum for 3+  hours.

God Knows what will happen.. :-)
