In the SSE method, we always take (y-mx-c)^2 for line equation as y=mx+c and never any other variant such as (x-my-c)^2. So is it required to take the format of (y-mx-c)^2 in every case ? I tried with the second format in the Graded Assignment Week 3 que. regarding Gas Equation. It resulted in two different answers for (P-0.5T)^2 and (2P-T)^2 even though both resulted from the same equation.
Waiting for reply.

We need to see which is the function of other.
y= mx+c means y is function of x.
if x is a function of y then we need to apply x= my + c
In graded question, it is clearly mentioned P(T) , P is function of T. so , y=P and x= T.
Hope it is clear now.
