Calculate the slope of the parabola given by the following function: y=6x^2+10x+15y at the point (2,y)

In this question are we taking derivative and solving it.. or any other direct method??

I say working with the derivative is the easiest and the shortest (just one step).

In fact, I never understood the method taught in the videos or maybe, I didn't try enough to understand it:)

Of course me also didn't understand from videos anything... And I become doubt that derivative is not used in the lecture anywhere , then how to solve this.that's why asked.

I know derivative and so  I can solve it.. but what about the other people who are forgot all these things

There are so many people who  non maths (class 11-12) background that may be the reason never use of derivatives.

Then what about those peoples in solving these kind of questions..??

Using the slope formula, slope of a point= 2ax +b

a=6
b=10
so slope= 2ax+b=2.6.2 + 10=34

1 point
Pls give the derivation of below

Calculate the slope of the parabola given by the following function: y=6x2+10x+15y=6x2+10x+15 at the point (2,y)(2,y).

this can be done in two ways.
according to lecture ... using the eqn 2ax+b , where a=6,b=10,and x=2( from the point given) ie, 2*6*2+10=34

another step is by derivatives, when deriving  6x^2+10x+15  becomes 2(6x)+10+0( bcz constant cannot be derived)

we get 12x+10 in this put x=2 , which also gives answer 34

This is a maths question.

Slope at a particular point is nothing but dy/dx value at that point.  You need to find the dy/dx value at (2,y).
For the given equation,
dy/dx= 12x+10,
Implies dy/dx at (2,y) is 12*2+10=34.
