Dear Sir/Madam,

In Slope of the line section, it is said that one has to measure the inclination of a line with respect to the positive x axis only and that too in the anti clockwise direction.  How are we supposed to measure the inclination if the line is completely located in the second quadrant or any other quadrant where the positive x axis is not present. Pleas reply.  Thanks for the kind attention.

Thank you.

Yours faithfully

Dear learner,
Negative side of the  X- axis is also a part of the X- axis and if a line intersect the X-axis, to measure the slope of the line, it is not necessary that the inclination of a line has taken only from positive side of X-axis, it can be taken from negative side of the X-axis, it is depend where the line is intersecting the X- axis.
Hope it will help.
Best wishes
