The answer options that are given in the question and its solution does not match. The question is interpreted differently in the provided solution. Please refer to the graph below.

The purple dotted line is the line 4x-y-9=0. It does not connect Ankit's initial position (3,3) and Ajay's final position (12,36). It is correct only if we interpret the question as Ajay's first traversal + 2 repetitions (not three).

I think the problem lies in the interpretation of the question and the possible ambiguity. But initially, while attempting the question, there was no ambiguity. The ambiguity arose only after seeing the solution.

Generally when we use the word "Repeat", we assume it as "initial action + one more time". But then it dawned on me that in the game of Chess, there is a rule called "3 fold repetition" which leads the game to a draw. In that context, the 3 fold repetition means repeating the positions 3 times only, not 4.

I am not really sure which interpretation is correct. But it feels really bad that even after knowing how to solve a problem and the equations, you can't score because of the interpretation issue.

Anyways, If we see a question like this in the qualifier or even after that, shall we assume that the number of repetitions mentioned in the question is the total number of instances. Not 1 + number of repetitions? I urge the support team to confirm this understanding.
