Dear Sir/Ma'am I am aspiring for your Bsc online course and have appeared for qualifier exam.I have gone through the brochure and found that , post qualification, course completion process is very tedious  with inclusion of quizes at exam centres. For many students it will be difficult  to travel frequently to exam centres in this covid-19 pandemi and find suitable and economical transportation. Also it will affect the other assignments/work/studies if students will be doing in parallel . We request you to simplify the course completion process by allowing proctered quizzes at home and take only final course exams at centres.

I agree with you!

Their centres are so far away from the city, also considering people who don't live in that particular city, they will have to travel for each exam.

Proctored exams should do fine, because it records all the activity!

Also it's an online course, going to centres for every exam is definitely not a convenient way.

I am an in campus hosteler from my university and live away from my parents it's also not a safe option for me, and students like me.

I hope they agree to proctored exams!

Sir,
I have spent 2000 rupees to travel to  exam centre for qualifier exam which was around 30km from my home .
Once the  foundation courses start considering three quizzes and end term exams the travelling expenses are much higher as its difficult to travel in covid times, consider proctors exam for quizzes  you can conduct a survey as how many students are facing difficult regarding exam centres reachability  ,time and cost and arrive at decision  in best interest of majority

My experience with conduct of qualifier exam was fantastic.

At every step from entering the center to finding my seat was done with utmost care with covid times in time.

I think it is very reasonable to conduct quizzes and final exam.

I think solution is to increase number of centers:
Eg let's say a student resides in Nizambad which is 175 KM from nearest test center. This would be little inconvenient to travel from Nizambad to Hyderabad 3 times.

However, if over time if Nizambad too gets a test center, this problem would get solved. For this to happen out of total qualified if atleast x amount of students are from Nizambad.

Finally I think, the format is made well thought, considering all the things.

Thanks

The assistance at the centre was remarkable!
But that is not the point,
The point is that traveling long distances for every test would be ver inconvenient.
Proctored exams are now practised in almost ever university,
With a stable internet connection, it ll resolve travelling problems for many many people.
It also can be expensive for some, who travel from different towns etc.

Also would like to add that, even for an examination like JEE there were people who came for exam from Mysore, (I live in blore) to my centre.
A huge population of 13 Lakh students wrote JEE and still couldn't find a centre in their city,

This course has a very little strength of students compared to that, so there is very little chance that number of centres will increase.

That's why, I asserted that proctored examinations would be a convenient way, in terms of safety, expenses, saves time etc.

Hey,

From one of the earliest Live sessions, I inferred that a 'new program being accepted, approved and launched at IITM' has to go through a lot of norms and really take time to see the day of the light.

My assumption is the format(invigilated quizzes and final exam) is based on one of those norms. (This is just my opinion based on assumption not fact). I might be wrong though.

Also, please excuse my ignorance of knowledge on proctored exams. More I learn about them I find them to be reasonable.

Thanks.
