New Special Categories for the Jan-Dec 2021 semesters!

Dear SPOC,

We are happy to announce yet another set of Special categories for the Jan-Dec 2021 semesters.

1. LCs with max Domain Scholars

Domain certification allows learners to show their mastery in a focused area. We even recommend that Universities provide a greater focus on completion of NPTEL Domains while implementing Credit Transfer. Over the last two terms several learners  from our Local Chapters have started completing Domain certification. Thus we feel that an additional incentive from our side will strengthen the recommendations from LCs to their students while taking up NPTEL courses. In this regard, we will be recognizing the Top 3 Local Chapters with this special recognition - LCs with max Domain Scholars for the Jan-Dec 2021 year.

2. LCs with max NPTEL Stars

Apart from the focused approach of a Domain scholar, there are several other ways in which learners take multiple NPTEL courses and perform well. These have been documented under NPTEL STARs. The NPTEL stars also show the continued persistence of the learner and drive to learn and we would want Local Chapters to encourage such learning habits among its students and faculty.  Hence we are recognizing the Top 3 Local Chapters with this special recognition - LCs with max NPTEL Stars for the Jan-Dec 2021 year.

Translation

The ongoing effort of translation has been a unique one to ensure contextualization of the learning content  among the diverse audience in our country. Faculty from Local Chapters have been driving our translation efforts (both in terms of generation of translated content as well as quality check of translated content). We have two unique recognitions to acknowledge the support by LCs in the translation effort. 

3. LCs who have contributed max to the Translation effort

 We have used the foll: formula to come up with cumulative points.

 Formula: 2*no. of Transl hrs + 3* no. of QC hours

We are recognizing the Top 3 LCs who have contributed maximum to the Translation & QC effort.

4. Star QC & Star Translator

 We also want to recognize the LC faculty who have completed the max hours of Translation & QC.

 Star QC - Those who have done QC for 200+ total no. of hours

 Star Translators - Those who have done Translation for 30+ total no. of hours
