Characters in the word 'pure' depend on the variety of English you are using. In the case of British/American English, the word pure forms a CCV pattern (a cluster). Therefore forms a cluster. However, a lot of non-native speakers of English pronounce the word as /pəjʊər/ thereby resulting in CVCVC pattern.
