in question number 1 of this section the count sum to 227 for the value of 15th August but the answer is showing 22. Can you tell me what mistake I am making??

Yes, the counting starts from 0 i.e. jan 1st is considered 0, jan 2nd as 1 and so on.. 
Mistake that you might have made - I think you might have started count from 1 i.e. you might have taken Jan 1st as 1..
