why in question 16 and 17, value of B and C is zero, it doesnt makes any sense

it makes sense. See if maths marks is greater than physics, then how can physcis marks be greater than maths? (check the brackets closely, like really closely)

It is because the second and third if conditions and inside the first if  condition. So when the first statement is true i.e MathMarks>PhysicsMarks the other 2 if conditions will obviously be false.
