Which of the following operations on a variable of the Marks datatype do not make sense? It is a Multiple Select Question (MSQ).

the answers are multiplication and division

multiplication i understood and was my choice
but division  can be used to calculate the percentage of marks obtained for that particular subject or the total

all the marks are out of 100 so the marks represented are equal to their respected percentages, if the marks were out of suppose 150, then i guess this would only have been multiplication

Hi Nikhil,
I think whatever Ayesha said is partially correct. I want to add in that.
So on marks datatype we can perform addition, subtraction and comparison operations between marks but we can not perform multiplication and division operations. The reason is that when we divide or multiply one student's marks by another student's marks it does not give any meaningful value.

If you still have doubt please write us again.
