Hi,
Frequencies for different ratings are given in the graph. Use the formula of mean when frequencies are given. It is given in the lectures.

I got the average rating as 4, but the accepted answer is in the range (2.9, 3). I checked the calculations repeatedly, Total number of observations is 977, total rating is 3927, need help in figuring out where I went wrong.

From the given data
Total number of ratings (78+192...+62)=977
Relative frequency for each ratings 
1*78=78
2*192=384
3*425=1275
4*220=880
5*62=310

sum of relative frequency = 2927

avg =2927/977=2.999 or 2
