Hi,
Try to find out the min, max, Q1and Q3 of the observations. Q1 and Q3 will be the endpoints of box and min, max will be the end of whiskers. Now check the options.

0.25 *(5-1) + 1 = 2nd Position
0.75 * (5-1) + 1 = 4th Position

Hi,
Don't use the google sheet method to find out the Q1 and Q3. Use the manual method.

Thanks,

This is the Rank formula which mam explained.  Which is the other manual formula?

40 * 0.25 = 10th position
So the ans would be mean of 10th and 11th  position?

i  got that 10th pos would be 25th percentile which is 7 and 75 percentile is 30th value wihch is 8 so the box should lie between 7 and 8  but if we see the median or 50th percentile  of the box plot according to crrect answer it is coming at 7.5 but if we write all 50 values in increasing order then 20th and 21st value is 8  so the meidan should be 8 so how is the answer crrect if we take median value or the 50th percentile

Hi,
Why are you saying that the median is 7.5? It is 8. Median is not denoted in the boxplots.
