Pileated Works the Snag. This is eye level from the snags on the (new) Sunset Pond Trail near the apartment entrance. There are a few of these snags left there. Clearly, they are fulfilling their purpose! I zoomed in with my Samsung Ultra23 and enhanced the video. It occurred to me that these birds, if human sized, would make excellent bouncers at any night club. All your night time crowd control problems would simply just disappear...
