to Whatcom Birds
Despite a forecast of partly sunny weather today, it was dark and gray and misty. At the Semiahmoo pier, there were lots of Harbor Seals and cormorants (mostly Double-crested) fishing in the waters just offshore. Included in the flocks were 25 to 30 COMMON MERGANSERS, and just a few Red-breasted. I thought it was a bit unusual to see Common Mergansers in this location.
No Yellow-billed Loon, at least on this side of the channel.
