Hi all
Just finishing a lovely two week trip back to Bellingham. Lovely to see and hear so many birds and it's certainly interesting to see and hear about the species that are here now that weren't, or at least weren't reported so much, when I lived here.
Highlights include
-A lovely male redstart and singing red-eyed video at Deming on a quick trip there with Paul Woodcock
-Red knot and long billed curlew at semiahmoo, as well as so many purple martins
-7 Bairds sandpipers on Drayton harbour 2 evenings ago and then one yesterday- this poor bird seemed to have a large fishing weight attached to it when it flew off. Let's hope the line works its way free or else life will be hard for it
-great looks at a northern waterthrush at tennant lake last evening
Dipped western kingbird and bar tailed godwit so a good excuse to come back and visit again soon
Enjoy the good birds fall brings with it
Nick
