Leucistic vs Hybrid Canada Goose

Seen at Padden Lagoon off Harris Street 3/21/2025. The bulky pink legs make me think it’s a hybrid Snow Goose X Canada Goose.

Nice shot. 

Speaking of leucistic birds. There was a Leucistic Dark-eyed Junco (?) at Richmond  national park, at the feeder to be exact, last I visited.

The legs of Joe’s goose reminded me of this goose that I photographed at the lagoon yearly. from winter 2011 to 2021.  I think I’ve seen mention of it by others since then.  It seemed to have a “normal" CAN goose partner that it aggressively kept other geese away from, for the last few years that I observed it.

My niece just sent me these photos of a Mountain chick a Dee taken in her yard on Lyla lane on the south side. 

I know they’re not commonly seen in this area but is it rare to see one?
