New Heron Rookery

Most folks are familiar with the Great Blue Heron rookery in Fairhaven. Now there is a second rookery forming in Bellingham. The Herons are building in the trees at the north edge of the dog park near Squalicum Beach. I counted 9 nests with an equal number of Herons on or near the nests.

On another note ….. The local male Anna’s Hummingbirds are performing their mating display. It must be spring.
