Subject: Belted Kingfisher juvenile female, AMGO and other juvi/immature birds
I believe the top rusty belt of this Belted Kingfisher will turn blueish on this female bird as it matures.
A beautiful stage of molt. This was taken today at the SW pond of Lake Terrell.

An immature Red-necked Phalarope and male & female immature Common Yellowthroats were found yesterday in the Lummi Dike area.

Also today at Sandy Point, looking for a Red Knot I found instead an American Golden Plover.

And finally for anyone interested, a trip report from our recent SE Arizona Bird Festival.
We almost canceled due to the weather forecast of the upper 90s into the low 100s. Sure glad we did not.
Very early field trips at high elevations of 4,000-8,000' kept most of the heat away. I'd highly recommend it to anyone. We had 12 hummingbird species!
This report is a summary of all the birds found during the trip. https://ebird.org/tripreport/150931
More photos have been added to my Flicker album including some pelagic birds including a shot of 3 species of albatross in one shot! See the link below.
Cheers
