Looking for some information.

We have property on Kelly Rd outside Bellingham.
Looking to control rodent population in a responsible way.
Would a box for Barred or Barn owls be advisable?
Are the boxes similar?
Any concerns or advice?

Thanks!

Hi Pam, barn owls are preferred due to the fact that they are native to the area and could benefit from some support as their numbers have declined. Barred owls are beautiful, but unfortunately have contributed to ecosystem disruption and wildlife loss even among other owl species. There are several helpful websites that go over how to make a barn owl box and I'd be happy to send one your way.
