I went to search for short-eared owls at Lummi Flats on Monday afternoon A northern harrier showed up briefly. Nothing else was there. I didn't stay. As I was about to leave, this little guy was seen sitting on a branch on South Red River road. It is a lifer for me. I almost identified it as a Cooper's, later realized that they have some similarities and differences. It is an immature sharp-shinnned. A bad hair day?
