Evening birding has been good this evening and last evening from 7:30-8:30. At my place by Pt. Whitehorn I’ve had thirty or so species still active each night. Also, last night and tonight I have heard and seen Common Nighthawks, presumably migrating by along the shoreline. Tonight, I was excited to look up and see a Black Swift with some Barn Swallows. A little while later there were 18-20 Black Swifts fluttering overhead for half an hour or so. Looking at the tails, there were some more fanned out like females and definitely some with somewhat forked tails of males. The overcast weather must have brought them down low from the mountains. Some were quite low.
