I was not expecting much as the gate was wide open and the field has recently been mowed. A slow walk around revealed some things of interest.
Highlights were 3 Yellow-headed Blackbirds - one adult male, thousands of tiny frogs underfoot in the grass and path, less than 1/2" long, 2 male Ruddy Ducks, a coot chick and three coot juveniles. I'd never seen juveniles before. And then as I was just leaving I looked over and someone was staring at me.
