- Holiday Reminders: Week of December 22, 2025

Town Hall will be closed on Tuesday, December 23, 2025 from 10AM-11AM for an employee event.
Town Buildings, with the exception of Public Safety, will be closing at Noon on Wednesday, December 24, 2025 and will be closed on Thursday, December 25, 2025.
There will be no trash and recycling collection on Thursday, December 25, 2025. Collection will be delayed one day for Thursday and Friday.

North Andover Senior Center

Take and Leave Bins - Leave what you can, take what you need. There are 4 Take and Leave Food Bin locations in town, none of which require registration or interaction with staff. The Police Department is open 24hrs, Senior Center has a tote outside on the bench by the front door, Town Hall has shelves to the left in the front lobby, and Historical Society by the common has a tote outside the front door.

Sometimes Recycling can be Tricky. Below is the list of - 10 Possible Reasons why Recycling Can be Rejected

10. No Small Appliances - Sorry, small appliances can not go in the Recycling Toter. Consider donating to the Salvation Army, Lazarus House or other non-profits.
9. No Shredded Paper - it's too small and does not go through the sorting machines.
8. Boxes not Broken Down - Unfortunately, if boxes are not flat it fills the truck up faster.
7. Late to the Curb - All Recycling Toters and Trash Cans are required to be curbside the night before OR before 7:00 am. Although NAWS would like to circle back - they can not, it causes delays.
6. The Containers are Yucky - Recycling does not have to be scrubbed BUT please rinse out. If the contents are too dirty - it can cause the load to be rejected.
5. Vegetation - leaves, sticks, and plants can not go in the Recycling Toter or Trash BUT Cyr Center can accept these items. Please click the link below for information on Cyr Center which is closing for the winter season on December 20th.

4. Styrofoam, Bubble Wrap and Tanglers - place in plastic bags and throw in the Trash
3. Mixing Trash with the Recycling - The recycling toter is large, green with an attached lid and has the Town Seal on two sides. No garbage please.

- 2026 Recycling Calendar

- Christmas Tree Pick Up 2026

Christmas Tree recovery is a service provided by the Department of Public Works (DPW) to eligible residents of North Andover. DPW will recover trees for two weeks in early January. The trees will be chipped. After the pick-up dates are completed, trees will no longer be picked up.
Because the trees are chipped please remove all:

Lights
Ornaments
Plastic Bags
Wires
Tree Stands
And/or Other Hazards

Wreaths and Garlands cannot be chipped. Please place trees curbside the night before or the day of (before 7am) on your normal trash day. All trees are required to be curbside by the week of 01.12.2026 – if trees are not curbside on this week, on your normal trash day, unfortunately, they will not be recovered.
Trees CAN NOT block sidewalks before the start date of 01.06.2026 or after final recovery or fines may be imposed. https://ecode360.com/32682190#32682190
Trees CAN NOT be buried under snow.
Once collection begins, you can add your address to the list for pick up by clicking here. This form is not required for pick up, but it will help to make the process more efficient.
