Weather forecast has been all over the place, but now looks good for Sunday. We've postponed the mountain laurel ride to next week, since the blooms haven't opened yet. Instead we will do a mixed surface ride from Williamsburg up to Deerfield, with a stop at Bittersweet Cafe.
Park at the Anne T. Dunphy School (off Petticoat Hill). Please do not take spaces in front of shops.
Join us on Sundays, for this series of social paced DIRT ROAD rides. Most of the dirt roads will be nice hard pack (so-called champagne gravel). However, if a specific ride has a section of chunkier surface, we will call it out in the ride description, but you should not expect long stretches of hike-a-bike or mountain bike conditions Most routes will be fine on a road bike with wider (30+mm) tires, but a gravel bike is likely more comfortable and confidence inspiring!
Hills, OTOH, will be ever-present, so LOW gears are highly recommended.
We get into remote areas. Bu sure your bike is in good condition and bring pump, tubes and tools to make necessary repairs.
We ride at a conversational pace and regroup as needed.
Ride departs on SUNDAYS at 10:00 AM from a variety of locations. The remote starts allow us to get onto quiet dirt roads right away and to get farther afield. Scenery is a feature. Bring a camera!
Specific routes will be vetted/preridden and added usually by the Monday before. Join or click interested to get notified when details are added or changed.
Rides may be cancelled due to bad weather. We may also cancel on holiday weekends, if we are both away and no other leader is available.
Please remember to sign the club waiver (current members have already signed): . After your second ride, we ask that you join the club.
