Hey NCCers! I have mentioned this in a few emails and in my own race plans, but time to get serious. There are two team competitions coming up in races that I am doing, and I would love to have an NCC team at both.

Whaling City is a sprint July 30 in New Bedford. If we get 10 NCCers to race, we can score as a team. I know a few people who've already signed up. If you are thinking of doing this race, can you please reply to this post so we can get a count? And if you're up in the air, do it! I did this race for the first time last year and really liked it. Flat course, good road safety (blocked off bike lanes), nice time-trial swim (2 X 2 within your wave) in a sheltered harbor (so ocean water but no surf).

Cranberry Trifest is an Olympic sort of south in 495 land on August 20. There's also a sprint the day before (or you can do both!), but the Olympic is the Northeast region club championship. As I recall, the club title is based on BOTH participation and placing, so again, the more the merrier. I know some of you have done this before--this will be the first time for me, but it has a great reputation. Again, if you're in, please reply to this post so we can start counting. Make good use of that summer fitness before fall comes and blows it all to h***! There's enough time to do BOTH Greenfield and this race.

Cheers,
Kate Q.

Hey Kate,

Good for you for being such a good team leader/encourager; that's not my strength so I admire it in other people!  I'd love a chance to win the Rudy Project glasses at the Whaling City race but I'm slated to do the evil Tour of the Hilltowns on 7/29.  Not even I am enough of a masochist to consider that double!  Cranberry is a possibility as I usually have Sundays off--are people traveling same day or do you have to stay overnight nearby?

My foot has been holding up pretty well with the running so far--I have to be very choosy about running workouts and races but overall I'm grateful just to be able to do tris this year.

Hope to catch up with you soon--miss seeing you and your colorful wardrobe.

I considered Whaling City for a hot minute before I remembered I am not the rock star I used to be. I just don't think I'll be able to pull my jet lagged self together in 12 hours and make the trip out.
I am 95% sure I'll be at Cranberry, it looks like a great race!
I am also considering the sprint at Greenfield.

Happy racing everyone!

Hey, if anyone is doing Cranberry and is coming down tonight, let me know--413-658-7249. I will be flying solo and happy to meet up for dinner. I can't remember at this point who all is coming, but I think at least Chris, and maybe a couple more?

Hi Kate,

Myself (Kirk Sanger) and my wife (Karyn Nelson) just signed up for the Whaling City.
