Several of us were talking after Monday's intro ride about trying to
do something else this week informally. At the moment Wednesday and
Friday look most plausible rain wise.
Without ruling out also doing something on Friday who'd be interested
in riding Wednesday evening or late afternoon?
No drop, 25-30 miles, probably a hair slower than the official C
rides, but really what works for the group that shows up. Those
interested might try a practice paceline on the flatter and more open
stretches, though not at a speed which anyone preferring to ride with
more space would struggle to match.
Ideas:
- Trail to Leeds, Haydenville, gentle climb to the reservoir, back
through Whately and paceline-potential Hatfield 27 / 900

- Flatter Hatfield / Hadley river loop 27 miles with a lot of paceline
practice potential

- Park in Hadley and go scenically through Amherst and Leverett to the
Bookmill coming back via paceline friendly rt 47 for 34 /1100

- Start earlier at 4:30 and ride the traditional Bookmill loop from
Northampton more slowly than traditional 40 / 1100 (or possibly skip
Taylor Hill climb)

- Or we can always do a scenic Glendale Rd aka Chipmunk loop with more
trail
https://ridewithgps.com/routes/39720275 or more roads
https://ridewithgps.com/routes/39726088
- Or something else?
I'd probably ride to the Hadley idea from Northampton anyway; for
Northampton starts we can do either Pulaski park or the free trail
parking lot at 344 Damon Road by the river bridge.
Naturally anything this week is weather contingent, but if interested
please let me know which route sounds most appealing, if you could
start earlier than 5:30 on Wednesday or prefer to stick with the
evening, and also if something Thursday or Friday (especially
afternoon) would be interesting...

(PS since some I've talked to in person weren't connecting that to
name and email, I'm the guy typically in hi-vis yellow with too many
water bottles and too much gear on a gravel bike)
