Would anyone join me in a wonderful route to ascend Mt. Wachusett, but starting in Harvard, MA?

Something like this - https://ridewithgps.com/routes/8119905 and (Strava)

I rode this nine years ago (after racing 50 miles!) and it was lovely.  I think it would be nice to take the SMR on the road again a bit further east for a change.

There is probably a better route, starting more west, to ascend Wachusett, but I don't have the time or resources right now to do that. I also understand (and agree) that hopping into the car and driving 1.5 hrs east for a club ride is not the ideal way to ride on a Saturday.

But, I figured I'd ask. I am willing to carpool if there is interest- I can take two bikes/humans.

If I don't get any interest by tomorrow (Thurs) evening- I'll bail on the idea and come up with a more local ride.

Tim, Nice. I lived in Bolton and that is a nice ride. One suggestion - that one stretch on the way back on Main  street or 117 in Bolton is narrow and busy.  I would route around that.

Hey Tim

I would love to do this ride with you. The only thing is I'm an intermediate to low on the speed. I just did the Kings tour (Gravel Grinder) near Quabbin 44 miles took me 5 hours. That was 1/2 Gravel 1/2 Road. I also rode with a girl from the NCC few weeks ago and did 33 miles in 2.5 hours. So around 14 miles an hour. I usually ride around Granby, South Hadley area, a little hilly. The second problem is I work so I would either have to take a day off or do a Saturday/Sunday. I'm gone this weekend. I have a gravel bike 38mm tires.

I've never ridden Wachusett without the pressure of racing--could be fine just to ride it for the views!  What would be the start time?

Not enough interest this time.  Thanks for the tip John, and Kenny, I will try this again sometime- maybe next season, and with a little more heads up.

I'll post a local SMR shortly.

Tim
