This morning's ride was a loop up to Old Deerfield and back from Keyes street in Florence.
Eric W ( who usually rides B rides) joined Lynda, Kent, Jennifer and Justine as it was his 'rest day'!
The weather was perfect, and the wind was our friend - for the most part.
Kent had to cut out at West Brook road off of Haydenville road due to time constraints, but the rest of us powered on past Whately Town hall , out North Street, South Mill river, and Stillwater to Old Deerfield.
Riding up and down the stately Old Deerfield Main Street is always a treat for me, and the beautiful spring flowers and greenery did not disappoint. We took our break at the Citgo Station/ mini mart at the corner of Old Main street and Rt 5, where there was a clean bathroom, a friendly proprietor, and Indian Music in the background!
Refreshed, we headed back through South Deerfield, Long Plain road to Hatfield, and home.
Eric kindly pulled the lion's share of the way back, and our average pace was above the 14.5 mph as a result. Jennifer rode her gravel bike with flat pedals, so likely put more watts out than the rest of us!
A good time was had by all.
