Here's a link to an idea I have for the upcoming NYD ride - around 43 miles with some (but not-so-tough) climbing. Thoughts? Counter suggestions?

Looks rerasonable David though current forecast is for low 30's. Seems like there are plenty of opportunities to shorten.

I also like that it’s basically flat. Who wants to descend when it’s in the 30’s?!

Excellent, thanks L! I’d say 2:15 is the earliest we’d be back but 2:30 is more likely.

Looks like a bit colder at noon tomorrow than I had originally seen. I just changed the two numbers around from 43 to 34 miles and posted a revised route accordingly. Fenders are looking like a good thing. Post ride shindig at Noho Bikes!

Description: Let's keep the tradition alive and start the New Year off right - yes, it's time for the annual New Year's Day Temperature Ride! We'll meet at the Academy of Music in Northampton at noon and do a moderately paced ride whose length will be determined by the current temperature in Fahrenheit (on the Silverscape clock if it's working - if not, I'll use my best meteorological skills to estimate). If it is 85 degrees, we'll ride 85 miles, 5 degrees, 5 miles, -10 degrees don't show up! Fenders are encouraged, as are hot beverages in a thermos.

Great ride today and fun new route (always nice to ride roads in opposite direction every once and while).  Thanks Dave for leading and Leila for opening the shop afterwards.  Always great to hang with the club.

I counted 26 riders on our New Year’s Day ride. That’s the largest turnout for this ride that I can remember. Great pace, great route, and great company. Thanks to everyone who came out for this ride and those that joined us afterwards at the bike bar.
