I will be leading a gravel ride this Sunday morning starting at 9:30 am at Pulaski Park, rain or shine.
I got perhaps a little carried away and plotted out a modification of Jonathon's route that takes some more adventurous trails that takes it up to 50 miles, but there are plenty of bail-out options if that's the vibe. This is a no-drop ride but please be prepared to be self-sufficient and bring a bike capable of less than pristine 'roads'.

Those look like some interesting ideas to try some other time at my pace!

That said, have you done the bit from Marion Street before? I
detoured in there once to look at the start of that and it seemed
pretty rugged for a mountain bike trail (more of a hiking one)
nevermind gravel... kind of like the time I ended up carrying my
grocery bike most of a mile over rocks and streams around the north
side Fitzgerald Lake when I thought I'd take in a little gravel before
stopping in at Big Y. Maybe you do know it and it gets better beyond
the first little bit I looked at?

Chris, coincidentally I cut through middle path to get to River Valley and it's very rideable. I'm not sure about the cut over to Marion but that's part of the fun.

I will definitely check out Middle Path!

It was the end from Marian street that I looked at and decided was
personally going to be a bike-carrying portage and not just a
challenge.

Looking at the strava heatmap (logged in to a free account) I'm
surprised to see that when zoomed close it looks like it's showing
individual journey tracks. Middle path gets tons of usage, the
initial part of the Marian street trail does too but very little then
going out to Marian street, more continues on the "Halfway Brook"
trail that comes out to Coles Meadow on its own, so that might be an
option when you get there. That's in cycling mode, with activity type
to foot based the path to Marian street is heavily used. Of course
with such low sample sizes people setting their recording mode wrong
may contaminate it - I can think of other places where I bet a lot of
the logged cycling trips are people who drove home still recording...

Will be interested to hear how the ride goes!

Middle Path is def. rideable.  The Marion St portion may have a little hike-a-bike, especially near the beginning, and towards the end, but it’s short.  Joe L.

Thank you so much for leading, Sam! Middle is fine, Marion portion very rough with pointy rocks

Just for laughs I tried Halfway Brook on the way back from Hatfield.
Much like the planned Marian street path, it goes over jumbles of
rocks - Sharp Rocks!

Plus it has a bridge with stairs. So that was mostly pushing my bike
and at most momentarily lifting it, but fortunately never carrying it.
Western half after it meets the Marian Street path was better, similar
in character to the Middle Path.

But the Middle Path was just barely rideable with my newbie skill set
and gravel bike, and quite a bit of fun once I remembered to coast
through the rock gardens feet level.

Made the mistake of going from the middle path to Boggy Meadow via a
connection that was both rocky and boggy, probably should have stayed
on the Middle Path out to Pines (which is I believe what this ride
will do only in the other direciton). Overall it was fun, though I
wished I'd been wearing DEET and not sweaty road kit. Tick check seems
to be negative but now I need to go clean what had been a brand new
drivetrain...

Took a few pictures, rather than clutter people's inboxes I stuck them
at https://www.strava.com/activities/7292939185

Will look forward to hearing how the ride goes - so that I can then go
and steal the best parts at my pace ;-)
