The NCC is running a Zwift road race series for the late summer/early fall, on Monday nights at 6:30 PM. These are open-category, race-style events (mass start, use any bike you'd like, drafting is allowed, no late join). These events use Zwift's Meetup feature, and display race results on-screen immediately after the completion of the race.

Routes vary each week, with a mix of flat and hilly courses, and last about an hour, more or less. The route for the September 21 race will be Richmond's Fan Flats course, seven laps for a total of 22 miles.

As with all Zwift Meetup events, these are invite-only events, with invites sent by the ride leader (Jonathan O'Keeffe for this series). You must follow Jonathan on Zwift in order to get an event invite (you can do this through the Zwift Companion app on your phone). Feel free to email or post on the NCC discussion board if you'd like an invite and haven't received one.

Optional audio/video chat will be available on NCC's Discord channel at https://is.gd/nccdiscord.

As with all NCC competitions on Zwift, the NCC's Honesty Policy applies:

Honesty Policy:
- Please remember, Zwift is a game and everyone participating in the TT or Hill Climb series is doing it for their own enjoyment.
- Since Zwift uses power data (either from a power source or from calculated ZPower), riders are expected to have an accurate weight listed in Zwift.
- If you use a power source (power meter or smart trainer), please calibrate it prior to the event.
- If for some reason your times are unrealistic, the NCC may review your past rides to determine if the time is realistic. If needed, your placement may be adjusted.

Standings:
- Each week, points will be awarded based on the number of competitors and your overall placing. For example, if there are 19 riders and you finish first, you will be awarded 19 points, second will get 18 points all the way down to the last rider who will get 1 point.
- At the end of the Zwift series, the rider with the most points will be awarded the NCC Zwift Road Race Series title.

This race is part of our weekly lineup of Zwift rides, as follows:

Mon 6:30 PM - Road Race
Tue 8:00 PM - Social Ride
Thu 5:30 PM - Time Trial / Hill Climb (solo effort, TT bike required)
Sat 9:00 AM - Social Ride (weather dependent)

Follow Michael Bello on Zwift for invites to the Mon/Thu/Sat rides.

Check the calendar page at www.nohobikeclub.org for full details on all events.

Charlie, Melissa, and I raced the Fan Flats course in Richmond last night.  Charlie and Melissa were kind enough to soft-pedal in the beginning while I suffered through a variety of technical difficulties (power drops) and user-generated errors (wrong bike choice).  Once we got started, we stuck together pretty much all the way through.  I was trying to split up Charlie and Melissa, but they were both watching every move, and responding quickly.  It came down to the sprint at the end, where I managed to edge out Charlie at the line.

1. Jonathan O'Keeffe - 3 points
2. Charlie Bailey - 2 points
3. Melissa Warwick - 1 point

Overall series standings after six races:
Jonathan O'Keeffe (6 races) - 19.5 points
Melissa Warwick (5 races) - 8.5 points
Charlie Bailey (4 races) - 7 points
Michael Bello (4 races) - 6 points
Jamie Parr (1 race) - 4.5 points
Kevin Weinman (1 race) - 3 points
