Hi, All

I want to post a notice for an NCC SMR for tomorrow, June 6, but I don't know how to add it to the calendar.  I want to do the COVAC Century, 2024 route, leaving from Pulaski at 9.  If folks (B riders) aren't into that long of a route, we could join Christian's ride, or do his loop, but separate from his group.  Rain later in the day, so as long as we're done by mid afternoon we should be okay.  Joe

This sounds awesome.  I plan to be there—hope to see another good crowd like 2 weeks ago.  Thanks, Joe, for organizing.

Let's all chat at 9 tomorrow at the park. I am not quite ready for 100 miles so I may hang with Christians group unless the B group decides to to the same route in a split.  I wanted to make sure everyone sees here that Joe is looking to do a century.  That is not typical mileage for a B ride this time of year.  But is also perfectly fine!

I apologize to anyone who had their heart set on doing the century today.  At Pulaski, it didn't seem like there were many takers for the hundo, and several people definitely didn't want to do a century, so I made the decision to join Christian's ride.  I think it turned out exceedingly well.  I thought the route was excellent, and the pace was more on the B+ side than the C+ side.  I thought that everyone worked well together, was considerate of other riders, and generally rode in the spirit of a nice group ride.  Personally, I was tired when I got home, and I don't think more mileage would have had much more of an additional training effect.  In the future, I hope to be more on the ball in terms of posting rides and getting them on the calendar, etc.  Best,  Joe

Joe,
You have nothing to apologize for-that was a great ride today at a good pace.  It was a perfect ride for my racing plans.  Thanks for stepping up and planning a century-another day!
And thanks to all who rode today.

This was a wonderful ride. Nothing to apologize for.  Everything worked out.  Communication is key to success.  We all had a chat at the start and everything worked out great!  Any time we have a mixed group the leaders are always on the lookout for gaps and call it when needed.  Every ride is different, as you all know.  This ride never had enough gaps to call a split.  Very strong C riders did an exceptional job hanging with the B riders.  I enjoyed talking and riding with everyone today.

Many thanks to Christian for posting and to Joe for his ambition.  This is a great example of teamwork among our volunteers in the club and is greatly appreciated.

I wrote up a small ride report on the NCC website.

Thanks for the input, since I can’t climb with you i thought I should list it as C+.  But the B+/C- makes sense.  I feel bad that a couple people dropped out, with such a big group and many not having the route, I didn’t rotate to the back as I normally do.  So I’ll update my ride comments.
