Availability of IRONMAN Opportunity by MMRF

Hi All,

The NCC Board of Directors received a notice by Brittney Wright who manages the triathlon program at the Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation (MMRF).  Here is her offer to the triathletes:

The MMRF raises funds and awareness for multiple myeloma, a currently incurable blood cancer. We raise over $40 million annually for research, and nearly 90% of every single dollar we receive goes directly to research.

 

I wanted to reach out to the NCC Tri Team as we are partnering with four IRONMAN races in 2019, and we would love to offer a big discount to your tri club members to be able to race with the MMRF Team for Cures! In 2019 we will have teams at:

·         IRONMAN 70.3 Connecticut (June 2)

·         IRONMAN Lake Placid (July 28)

·         IRONMAN Chattanooga (September 29)

·         IRONMAN Florida (November 2)

 

MMRF Team for Cures athletes raise money for life-saving cancer research, and bring invaluable hope to the myeloma community. As part of our team, athletes receive special perks like a custom race bib with low number, priority bike racking right next to the pros, free training plans and race-specific webinars, a custom MMRF kit, and a discounted entry fee to the race (for 140.6 races, $250 instead of $700+, and for 70.3 races, $150 instead of $300+). Athletes also have access to our full-time fundraising coach, who is there to make fundraising easy so athletes can continue to focus on their training.

 

We would love to WAIVE the entry fee for any of your tri club members, meaning it would be $0 to sign up as part of the MMRF Team for Cures for any of the above races! Athletes would still receive all of the same team perks.

 

Everyone unfortunately has a connection to cancer – this is a great opportunity for athletes to join the fight against cancer and add more meaning and motivation behind their miles.
