I, too, bailed on the long TT, expecting that it would be cancelled by thunderstorms, or extreme heat.  Chapeau to those that accepted the risk and rode with valeur.  Joe

Joe, you have proven yourself to be a wise one on these weather matters. Thinking back to the 
Chesterfield hill climb of years ago when, at the summit, we were met by lightning bolts and a hail storm. As I recall you stayed home to take down the laundry off the outdoor line. A wise choice indeed. 😊  Roger

Roger, that epic Chesterfield climb came to my mind as well when I read Joe's comment--he does seem to have a knack for avoiding unfavorable biking weather!
