Sunday Green River Ride from Umass

Hey all,
The umass cycling club is going to try to get a ride going for Sunday up to greenfield and riding the length of green river road. About 80mi and leaving haigus mall at umass likely around 10am.
Seeing what interest is out there for this ride.

Hi Ben, what's the pace gonna be like? A/B/C?

My in-laws will be up from NC and leaving on Sunday so I'm not sure I can join... but definitely interested.

Likely an A/B pace ride. There’s also the option to start from greenfield and make it a tighter 50mi ride... but I think 80mi would be doable.
Hopefully you can come!

I've been on a portion which is unpaved... how much of the 80ish miles is unpaved? Basically just asking... gravel/cross or road bike (road bike has 28's)?

Def a road bike ride with some chubbier tires maybe.

Let your friends know about the ride. Not sure how many umass people will come bc it’s a holiday weekend, but the more the better

Convenient porta potties will be available on the opposite side of campus at the end of the ride lol

I'd still like to do the ride...  even if just the two of us.  Took today off and it's a good opportunity for a longer steady late-season training ride (on a gorgeous stretch of road).  Sound good to you?

Ben I think I'm gonna bail...  I'm gonna plan ride from my house (West Springfield) to the Peace Pagoda in Leverett.  Its 45 minutes drive each way to Amherst...  an hour and a half I could just spend on the bike.  You're welcome to join.  Sorry to bail last minute.

Probably going to leave a bit earlier too..  around 7 or 8
